So you own a trade show booth, it’s over a few years old. The look is somewhat out-dated. Your company’s image has changed and now you wish to have this reflected in your trade show booth. Do you refurbish your existing booth or do you look to purchase new. Here are few indications as to know whether to refurbish or to seek a new booth design.

Older trade show booths tend to be extremely heavy in weight. Shipping to and from the convention hall can be costly. Drayage cost will also be more expensive as oppose to lighter trade show booth. Alternately it maybe more cost effective for you to purchase or rent a newer trade sow booth.

If setting up your older structure is costly this maybe another deciding factor on whether to refurbish on not. Purchasing a newer and more economical structure maybe your best cost savings

If your trade show booth looks outdated, it’s time to change or refurbish. Your image is important and should not be compromised at any cost

If you are paying a great deal to store your existing tradeshow booth and not getting any major use out of it, then certainly look to change to a newer booth that cost less to store and or you can get more use out of the booth

Sometimes refurbishing can cost a great deal, so be wary of costs. If costs are exorbitant then it probably would be better to purchase a new lighter constructed booth. Keep in mind that your old booth has to be thrashed, so consider the cost to thrash your old booth. The other alternative is to use some older components from your existing booth (if weights of those components are not a factor) and add newer and much more modern and lighter components to your booth. This gives you the best of both worlds. It also helps environmentally in the recycling effort that is taking the nation by storm. Bear in mind that in upgrading your booth, both weight and materials and cost should be your quest. Yes going green should be everyone’s motto, and we all should strive to implement that for the tradeshow industry. Most exhibit houses have always used and refurbished existing components, so this is not new to the industry.

Ultimately looking your best at the trade show is what you are shooting for. Never cheat yourself by not putting the proper amount of funds into your image. Image ultimately determines your company’s success. Thinking you are saving a great deal buy refurbishing your old trade show booth may not be the answer. It may be better to get a new up to date trade show booth, which will ultimately give you the right image.
